We’re from Singapore. And we’re playing for a school, Serangoon Junior College. (:
29 JULY FRIDAYYYYYYY.
Hey guys, del hereeeeeee. During last friday’s practice, we learnt a new move : Diamond. During friday’s practice, we weren’t able to cover enough ground whilst doing the 3 punch up, i hope that we can improve on that and understand the purpose of every movement. Diamond is a new move, so i hope we are able to master it as fast as possible so that we will be able to use it in our 6V6 during trainings instead of sticking to becky and also hopefully, we can grasp it in time for our match with NJC on saturday (: *nervous* I’m sure all of us had fun too when DT came and joined us, it’s not something that will always get to experience having to play with our teacher, i hope everyone had treasured the time we had playing with him (: OH yesss, and i think we had improved out lateral passes (: YAY. We have fewer drop balls and able to complete consecutive passes faster. That’s a good sign, this shows that we have better ball sense. HEHE. We must also watch out for forward passes and always realign ourselves after passing out the ball (:
HAVE A GR8 WEEK AHEAD ,GUYS (:
PS: 7TH MONTH TIME. HEH.
WILLRUN ?
Hey girls!!! Mariam here again. I just want to say REALLY REALLY good effort put in for the run yesterday! It really warmed my heart, seeing how we pressed on together as a CCA throughout the run. Doubt i would have had the motivation to push as hard if we weren’t running as a team. We’ve all stepped out of our comfort zones, together at that! Goes to show we can accomplish anything if we work together and persevere! We all managed to hit 10km together, if not more. So really good job girls, so proud of all of you(:
On Friday’s training
Hi girls! Here to pen down some of my thoughts from Friday’s training session.
I enjoyed very much having the chance to train and bond with all of you and I thought it was a great opportunity for me to relax and unwind after a long week of work in the office and classroom. I don’t get much time on the pitch s I used to, so I really treasure the few minutes of action that I get with my boots on.
I joined in your game also not because I wanted to meddle in your affairs or to disturb your training or look like a clown (or marathon runner) for that matter. Rather, I thought it might be good if I look at things from your perspective, so that when I give you a debrief I do not make inaccurate assumptions. I always believe in getting my hands dirty - to be very involved in cca training so that when it comes to writing SGCs or selection for nationals, I can be as fair as possible.
I feel that it is very easy to underestimate the importance of communication during a game. As far as possible, I try and shout out to teammates to give them a heads up or to ask for advice. I know it may be tough to keep talking as you are panting, but I think that’s a fitness issue and I believe that without strong and and clear communication amongst teammates, we will be severely disadvantaged.
I think we need to also work on our fundamentals such as being onside, back passes and ruck ups. Doing these well count for a lot more than being able to understand or learn a complex move. Do these well and you’ll find yourself doing those fancy things naturally anyway.
keep up the good work and passion you have for this sport. I am very heartened to see all of you so involved and dedicated to learning the game. I am also very appreciative of the support you have given to me during Will Run today! Haha. I think I am also starting to get to know some of you better as individuals.
A big thanks once again for letting me train with you, and do work hard for your promos. Remember to be disciplined and determined in whatever you do, and to always strive for excellence.
Have a great weekend,
DT
